Summer Camp at The Behavior Exchange

Summer Camp at The Behavior Exchange is a structured, engaging, and effective extension of their year-round ABA services. Designed to support children with autism, this 10-week program blends individualized therapy with the joys of summer to foster meaningful progress in a fun, social setting.

Here’s everything to know about this specialized summer camp for autism:

The Experience

The Behavior Exchange Summer Camp follows the same evidence-based approach as our year-round services. As a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence® and the first in North Texas to achieve the highest accreditation for ABA therapy providers, we are committed to delivering expert, individualized care.

The camp is staffed by professionals who are RBT-certified and trained onsite by our experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). This ensures that every child receives therapy from individuals who possess the skills, training, and ethical standards necessary to support their growth.

Program Components That Make a Difference

The summer camp at The Behavior Exchange is carefully designed to meet a range of developmental needs through a mix of structured therapies and activities. Children enrolled in The Behavior Exchange Summer Camp benefit from:

Early Intervention with B.E.E.S.

The Behavior Exchange Early Start (B.E.E.S.) program is perfect for preschool-aged children. Through activities like circle time, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, and music, children gain essential communication and foundational academic skills. This supports a smoother transition into traditional classroom settings.

One-on-One Therapy

Some children thrive in individualized settings. The camp offers intensive one-on-one ABA therapy sessions focused on essential areas such as communication, following instructions, potty training, social interaction, and self-help skills. Each therapy plan is customized to meet the specific needs of the child, ensuring focused and meaningful progress.

Social Skills Groups

For school-aged children, social skills development is crucial. Our group sessions provide opportunities to learn and practice social interactions in a safe, supportive environment. Children build confidence, form friendships, and strengthen their ability to engage with peers through guided group activities.

Why Summer Programs Matter

For children with autism, the summer break can sometimes lead to regression due to a lack of structure and consistency. The Behavior Exchange Summer Camp prevents this by offering a routine and a continuous learning environment during the summer months. Key benefits include:

  • Consistency in Learning: Keeps children on track with educational and developmental goals.
  • Social Interaction: Encourages meaningful relationships in a supportive setting.
  • Skill Development: Promotes the acquisition of new skills and greater independence.

Therapy at The Behavior Exchange Summer Camp isn’t just effective—it’s enjoyable! Every two weeks, new themes and special activities are introduced to keep children immersed and motivated. This environment allows kids to apply their skills in different contexts, reinforcing learning through play and discovery.
