Here’s how to celebrate National Waterpark Day 2024, in DFW:

Like All Holidays, Plan Ahead

National Waterpark Day in 2024 is one way to beat the heat this July!

If you’re a parent, you already know that arriving early is key to getting the best spot and avoiding long lines at the waterpark. However, it’s also a good idea to map out which attractions you want to hit first, especially the most popular ones, to make the most of your time.

Check the waterpark’s schedule for any special events, discounts, or restrictions. Most waterparks allow you to rent lockers, so plan to store your valuables securely.

Packing for your Waterpark day

Celebrate National Waterpark Day in 2024 this July!

When planning a trip to the waterpark, packing the right essentials can make all the difference for a fun National Waterpark Day this 2024.

From must-have items like sunscreen and sunglasses to often-overlooked necessities such as waterproof phone cases, being well-prepared ensures that you and your family can fully enjoy the attractions without any hiccups.

Here’s what to bring to the waterpark to maximize your experience:

  • Sunscreen: The higher the SPF, the better.
  • Sunglasses and Hats: We need to protect our peepers from those UV rays as well. Kiddos might not want to wear glasses or hats, but try anyway! Hats/visors will also help combat sunburn to the face and ears.
  • Water Shoes: The sun beating down on the pavement is going to make for pretty hot steps. Keep those feet safe by wearing shoes. I don’t recommend flip-flops, as they tend to get slippery when wet.
  • Wet Bag/Dry Bag: You should bring at least two bags with you—one for wet clothes and one for dry clothes. If you keep them separated, they are easier to manage when you get home—just head to the laundry room and throw that wet bag right into the washer.
  • Dry Clothes: We want dry clothes to go home in. We don’t want to sit in the car in wet clothes and mess up the seats. Also, chaffing is a thing. It’s uncomfortable to be in wet clothes for a whole day!
  • Cell Safety: Face it, we have become a society that treats our phones like third hands. Make sure you keep them charged and dry! Use a waterproof case, portable charger, and charging cables.
  • Goggles/Eyeglass strap: These items are a must if we want to see underwater or just see, period. We don’t need to lose our glasses and have somebody step on them at the bottom of the pool.
  • GoPro or Disposable Waterproof Camera: Want to catch those cannonballs or death-defying leaps from the diving board but don’t want to wreck your phone? A GoPro or disposable waterproof camera is perfect. Make those memories and capture them forever!
  • Flotation: For any little ones, bring an approved floatation device, such as a life vest with arm connectors, commonly called a puddle jumper. Regular life vests are also recommended. Infants should bring a flotation device with an overhead cover to protect sensitive skin.
  • Ear Plugs: Get ear plugs for those littles that have sensitive ears or are prone to ear infections.
